The issue of race is ever present in Barbados, and surely underlies the amazing  public furor that has arisen over the recent crowning of a white Miss Barbados beauty queen.

And so, we now take the opportunity to revisit the issue of racism in Barbados, and to share with the public a number of pertinent questions that Mr David Comissiong, President of the Peoples Empowerment Party, posed to the government appointed ‘Committee On National Reconciliation’ way back in the year 1999.

These questions – as relevant today as they were seventeen years ago – are as follows:-

  1. To what extent does the false notion of Black or African inferiority still infect Black, White,  and Asiatic Barbadians? If this is the case, how do we correct this state of affairs?
  2. Are there Churches, religious practices and theologies in Barbados which foster and / or perpetuate the false and discredited notions of Black inferiority, subordination and dependence on non-Blacks?
  3. To what extent is the distribution of land in Barbados racially skewed and inequitable? If this is so, are specific governmental corrective measures required? Is there a need for “Alien Landholdings legislation”?
  4. Is the education system doing an adequate job of imparting to our students information about the history and achievements of the various racial and ethnic groups which make up our population? Is the news media of Barbados doing an adequate job of providing the majority Black population with news and information about Africa and peoples of African descent?
  5. To what extent are there racially segregationist regulations and/or practices in place in the clubs, beaches, hotels and social institutions of Barbados? Are governmental corrective measures required?
  6. To what extent do businesses in Barbados indulge in racial discrimination in their employment and procurement policies and practices? To what extent is there evidence of race-based business monopolies and unfair race-based business practices designed to eliminate competition?
  7. What is the precise state of the distribution of wealth in Barbados across race and class lines? Is there a need for new re-distributive policies?
  8. To what extent is there evidence that the lending policies and practices of banks and other financial institutions are based on racial considerations? Is there a need for governmental intervention?
  9. To what extent do the major secular institutions of Barbados – the law courts, police force, office of the Governor General, etc – still retain elements of an institutional culture that is alienating to Black and/or working class Barbadians?
  10. To what extent are the foreign films, videos and music coming into Barbados propagating racially demeaning notions and sensibilities?
  11. To what extent is the racist historical tradition of the stigmatization and criminalization of the business activities of small black business-persons still in evidence?
  12. To what extent do we have a sense of consciousness of the great moral wrong of slavery, and of the inhuman cruelties and disabilities that were inflicted upon Black people? Are we prepared to support a campaign for Reparations?
  13. Is there the need for a conscious effort to rectify the imbalance deliberately built into our national culture by investigating, re-evaluating and re-appropriating aspects of African culture?

If the current storm-in-a-teacup motivates us to address our minds to these vexed yet very relevant questions, then something positive would have been achieved!

“This is a logical progression exercise we doing here……next step……become creative…..develop needs for the world…”
    ….QED “

OK then Vincent, here is a bit of creative thinking outside the reparations box.
What about turning some of those fields once owned by the whites but ‘worked’ by the black slaves into cannabis sativa fields now worked and managed by the descendants of the same slaves?

After all, the world is in need of a great healing and herb is being seen as the medicine. Just check out the American scene and see where the profits are being made today. Hemp for industrial and commercial use can replace the former cane fields that made sugar King.

What about compulsorily acquiring those CLICO lands (now growing cow itch and housing vermin) and turn them into productive fields of hemp which can be sold to the world with some of the money going to meet the liabilities due to the policyholders and their estates?

I am sure the present owners of those overgrown fields would see it as an act of retribution where the wheel of karma would have turned full circle at the point when those same lands were ‘forcefully’ acquired from the indigenous people thereby putting real meaning to the following words in the anthem:

“We loyal sons and daughters all
    Do hereby make it known
These fields and hills beyond recall
Are now our very own ..”

From whom much was taken by force, to whom much shall be returned in the fullness of time.
The blacks paid the full price through their blood, sweat, tears and death. The spirits of their ancestors and those of the Amerindians will weep with joy for this act of repayment from Karma.

Miller…not surprising. ..but Vincent want blacks to give more to the world than they already gave…

…….even ticks and fleas take a break…vampires sleep all day…but Vincent and his gang of parasites want to take the very skin off blacks in Barbados and around tge world…until there is nothing left.

Imagine if these parasitic criminals had 200 and 300 year lifespans.

    Death is indeed a blessing.

That is the clue the majority needs to put down that plan and any others that they are conniving to bring to fruition…but the leaders are so weak.

That is our culture. You recall a man called Frank Butcher who pioneered the manufacturing of steel bus bodies in Barbados? Some of the mini buses he made are still in operation, after some 20 to 25 years of service. Those mini and omni buses which the Barbados Government had opted to import, instead on giving ACME the opportunity to build, have been long gone, and, as they say in Barbados, had not lasted as long as a snow cone.

Yeah…I remember Frank well, I was a child, his steel factory was in Roebuck Street near the Globe Cinema. His workers were very skilled and that factory should still be operational and building buses..

That is the same man Mark Maloney’s brother Stuart Maloney, stole money from his bank account when he was working at a bank in town….that was many years ago…so even back then…none of them wanted to see blacks prosper,…they would steal whatever they could het their hands on …….it has gotten even worse now, with the help of the slaves in parliament.

Colonel…ya would think black people would learn.

The history of slavery in the United States justifies reparations for African Americans, argues a recent report by a UN-affiliated group based in Geneva.

This conclusion was part of a study by the United Nations’ Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent, a body that reports to the international organisation’s High Commissioner on Human Rights. The group of experts, which includes leading human rights lawyers from around the world, presented its findings to the United Nations Human Rights Council on Monday, pointing to the continuing link between present injustices and the dark chapters of American history.

“In particular, the legacy of colonial history, enslavement, racial subordination and segregation, racial terrorism and racial inequality in the United States remains a serious challenge, as there has been no real commitment to reparations and to truth and reconciliation for people of African descent,” the report stated.

“Contemporary police killings and the trauma that they create are reminiscent of the past racial terror of lynching.”

Citing the past year’s spate of police officers killing unarmed African American men, the panel warned against “impunity for state violence,” which has created, in its words, a “human rights crisis” that “must be addressed as a matter of urgency.”

The panel drew its recommendations, which are nonbinding and unlikely to influence Washington, after a fact-finding mission in the United States in January. At the time, it hailed the strides taken to make the American criminal justice system more equitable but pointed to the corrosive legacy of the past.

“Despite substantial changes since the end of the enforcement of Jim Crow and the fight for civil rights, ideology ensuring the domination of one group over another, continues to negatively impact the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of African Americans today,” it said in a statement. “The dangerous ideology of white supremacy inhibits social cohesion amongst the US population.”

In its report, it specifically dwells on the extrajudicial murders that were a product of an era of white supremacy.

    ziannaoliphant.jpg

Lynching was a form of racial terrorism that has contributed to a legacy of racial inequality that the United States must address. Thousands of people of African descent were killed in violent public acts of racial control and domination and the perpetrators were never held accountable.

The reparations could come in a variety of forms, according to the panel, including “a formal apology, health initiatives, educational opportunities … psychological rehabilitation, technology transfer and financial support, and debt cancellation.”

To be sure, such initiatives are nowhere in the cards, even after the question of reparations arose again two years ago when surfaced by the groundbreaking work of American journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Separately, a coalition of Caribbean nations is calling for reparations from their former European imperial powers for the impact of slavery, colonial genocide and the toxic racial laws that shaped life for the past two centuries in these countries. Their efforts are fitful, and so far not so fruitful.

When asked by reporters to comment on the tone of the American presidential election campaign on Monday, the working group’s chairman, Ricardo Sunga of the Philippines, expressed concern about “hate speech … xenophobia [and] Afrophobia” that he felt was prevalent in the campaign, although he didn’t specifically call out Republican candidate Donald Trump.

“We are very troubled that these are on the rise,” said Mr Sunga.”

  13. A clear understanding of race / racial politics can be obtained from a study of the origins of Europeans/Caucasian(white/ albino derived Asians).

  14. Theodor Friedrich Wilhelm Poesche (1825 – 1899) was a German American anthropologist and author, specializing in historical
    anthropology.
In 1878 he published The Aryans: A contribution to historical anthropology. Based on the physical characteristics attributed to Indo-Europeans (fair hair, blue or light eyes, tallness, slim hips, fine lips, a prominent chin). He identified this race with that whose skeletons are found in the Alemannic “row-graves” of Southern Germany, and he contended that it has existed in Europe since the Neolithic period.

His argument was that the Aryan race originated in the great Rokitno swamp, between the Pripet, the Beresina, and the Dnieper. Here depigmentation or albinism is very prevalent, and here he considers the fair, white race originated.

  15. Origin of Europeans/ Caucasians

Europe’s Albinos, since the time they ursurped Blacks and took power in Europe, have tried mightly to figure out where they came from.

Lets go back to Africa, to the pre- Out of Africa migrations times, which saw Africans explore and settle the rest of planet Earth.

At the Earths Equator in Africa, the climate is as follows:
12 hours of daylight year round, Daytime temp. 86 degrees, Nighttime temp. 70 degrees, UV radiation 11 (the maximum) year round. In that kind of UV environment the Sun ravages an Albinos body, thus an Albino cannot hunt reliably, and most certainly cannot farm effectively. Leaving Albinos to be burdens on their families and Clans.

For reasons unknown to us, the Black Dravidians of India produce the most Albinos per family, and it is from these Dravidians that the Caucasian type Albino subRace arose.
When opportunity presented itself, Albino Dravidians wasted no time in joining their Black brethren in their exit from Africa, circa 60,000 – 50,000 B.C. Sometime after the Dravidians reached what is now called India, where the climate is much the same as in Africa, the Dravidian Albinos, in a quest for cooler temperatures and weaker Sunshine, continued on northward across the Hindu Kush mountains and into Central Asia: and there in Asia they stayed for unknown thousands of years.

Then suddenly, for unknown acts or transgressions, the Mongol Huns Chased almost all of the Albino tribes (Germanics and Slavs), but not Turks, out of Asia and into Europe – circa 370 A.D.

But this was just the last phase, Central Asian Albinos had entered Europe from many directions over the centuries, The Roman historian Tacitus, circa 100 A.D. (note: Romans were actually Blacks/Albinos and resultant mulattoes), from an earlier invasion by a previous wave of Albinos from Central Asia – circa 1,200 B.C. Tacitus described the “New” Albinos (Germanics) thusly: From his book: Germany Book 1 [1]

Quote: For my own part, I agree with those who think that the tribes of Germany (not the same as modern Germany), are free from all taint of intermarriages with foreign nations, and that they appear as a distinct, unmixed race, like none but themselves. Hence, too, the same physical peculiarities throughout so vast a population. All have fierce blue eyes, red hair, huge frames, fit only for a sudden exertion. They are less able to bear laborious work. Heat and thirst they cannot in the least endure; to cold and hunger their climate and their soil inure them.

    Modern White people (Albinos/Albino derived):

Clearly there are few modern White people who fit an exact match to Tacitus’ description of the incoming Albinos from Central Asia circa 100 A.D.

The reason for that is quite simple, the combination of certain Black men preferring Albino females, and Albino females preference for darker males, has over the generations, created an Albino Race that is now mostly made up of Quadroons (1/4), Octoroons (1/8), and Quintroons (1/16). That is why the definition of European Albino includes the term “Derived”.

As a result, both the “Red” Hair and “Blue” Eyes that once defined Albinos and the White Race, are now becoming rarities. Now about 1 to 2 percent of the human population has red hair, with some places like Ireland having much more. A 2002 study found that the prevalence of blue eye color among the white population in the United States to be 33.8% for those born from 1936 through 1951, compared with 57.4% for those born from 1899 through 1905. Most recently, that percentage has dwindled to about 17 percent. Worldwide, the number of people with blue eyes is even less, at only about eight percent. This is all due to Black admixture, whether it be directly from Black to Albino, or indirectly, as from a “ROON” (a dark “Derived” Albino), of one type or another, to an Albino.

From Tacitus’ description, we know immediately that the Dravidian Albinos now in Europe had not evolved in Central Asia: they still could not farm nor do heavy work, even though the milder Sun in Central Asia would have allowed them to Farm. Clearly then it was sometime during the “Modern Era” (after year “0” A.D.) that European Albinos acquired the genes (through Black admixture) which allowed them the strength and stamina to Farm.

Later, in about the seventh century, Mongols once again went to war to rid Asia of it’s last Whites – the Turks!

  16. At the American Association of Physical Anthropologists meeting ,March 2007:
Comments on the recent genetic studies:

This research conducted by Europeans descendants seeking the roots of their origin supports the view that the first pale-skin European was born 6,000 years ago. In 2005, researchers linked the paleness of the modern European skin to a mutation in gene SLC 24A5. Its implication is immense if fully comprehended. The “whites” or Caucasians are not native to Europe as noted by Sokal. Haak et al (2006).

  17. Origin of Caucasians:

Scientists have correlated the wide variations in human skin color with the mutations in one gene, the MC1R gene (Harding et al 2000:1351).
Harding concluded that the whiteness of human skin was a direct result of random mutations in the MC1R gene that were non-lethal at the latitudes of Ireland, England, and Sweden. Even the mutations that produce RED HAIR with little ability to tan were non-lethal in the northern latitudes.
Harding concluded that the intense sun in Africa selectively killed off the progeny of individuals who had a mutation in the MC1R gene that made the skin whiter.

Millions of ‘secret gingers’ carry the gene which raises risk of skin cancer
Sarah Knapton, science editor, The Telegraph,
    12 JULY 2016 .

Millions of Britons are unwittingly carrying the ‘ginger gene’ which puts them at greater risk from skin cancer, even if they do not have red hair.

Scientists in the UK have proven that the increased danger for people carrying the MC1R gene (mutation)is the equivalent to being exposed to the sun for an additional 21 years.

Redheads carry two copies of the ‘ginger gene’ MC1R(mutation),, but now scientists have discovered that around one quarter of the population carry one copy, which also raises their risk of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.
The people who are most likely to carry one copy of the gene have freckles, pale skin and tend to burn in the sun……

‘Ginger gene’ can significantly boost the risk of developing the disease, research shows
    Irish Times.
    Tue, Jul 12, 2016.

An inherited ‘ginger gene’ associated with red hair, pale skin and freckles is directly linked to the genetic risk of developing skin cancer, new evidence has shown for the first time.

An inherited “ginger gene” associated with red hair, pale skin and freckles is directly linked to the genetic risk of developing skin cancer, new evidence has shown for the first time.
The MC1R gene variant can boost the risk of skin cancer by the equivalent of 21 extra years of sun exposure, say scientists.
Red-haired people all have two copies of the variant, which causes a strong tendency to burn in the sun.
But even a single copy of the variant, found in many people without red hair and freckles, increases the number of gene mutations associated with malignant melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, research shows.
Redheads are disproportionately represented in Ireland, making up more than 6 per cent of the population, compared with 1 per cent to 2 per cent of the rest of the world.
The MC1R variant affects the type of melanin skin pigment humans produce, leaving those who have it especially vulnerable to damage from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Lead researcher Dr David Adams, from the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, said: “It has been known for a while that a person with red hair has an increased likelihood of developing skin cancer, but this is the first time that the gene has been proven to be associated with skin cancers with more mutations.
“Unexpectedly, we also showed that people with only a single copy of the gene variant still have a much higher number of tumour mutations than the rest of the population.

    1) Blue Eyes Face Higher Cancer Risk
    September 26, 1985|United Press International
BOSTON — Exposure to sunshine increases the risk of eye cancer, with blue-eyed people more at risk than those with dark eyes, doctors reported Wednesday….
Blue-eyed subjects had the highest risk of the eye melanoma and were followed closely by those with green, gray or hazel eyes, the study showed. People with more than 100 freckles, which indicated both exposure and sensitivity to the sun, were significantly more likely to have iris melanoma, Tucker said.

3)Eye color linked to cancer risk
The study found that individuals with blue, grey, or green eyes, and fair skin are more likely to develop eye cancer than those with brown eyes. The increased risk is linked to pigmentation genes that determine eye color.

The risk of eye cancer among those with lighter eye color is more common in people over the age of 50.

  18. Origin of white Skin:
The gene SLC24A5 turns out to be critical for the production of melanin.
100 percent of Europeans have a mutation in SLC24A5 that impairs the function of melanin.
Recently ,mutations of SLC24A5 gene was found to be linked with albinism.
Oculataneous Albinism type 6 (OCA6 )was first described by Wei Li’s lab in a Chinese family and is associated with mutations in the SLC24A5 gene.
Researcher recently identified a homozygous mutation of SLC24A5 (OCA6) in two persons with oculocutaneous albinism type 6 from French Guiana.

  19. The Black Human Race

All Human Phenotypes, and all Human Genotypes, are Black and African in Nature and Origin.

The Human Race has three main Phenotypes:

    Negroid, Caucasoid, Mongoloid.

The genotype of an organism is the inherited instructions it carries within its genome.

In the Human Race, the natural coloration of each of the three Phenotypes is ALWAYS Dark/Black:

Except in cases where there is Genetic defect. The most common genetic defect in each of the three Human genotypes is Albinism.

The mixture of Black phenotypes and Albino phenotypes, produces the worlds Mulatto phenotypes.

Note that for each and every facial feature, or body type, that we have been taught to think of as White (European), or Chinese (Mongol), there is an original and much older Black version of the same.

Colorations – such as Blonde hair or Blue eyes, are a function of Albinism .

Clearly both Europeans and Mongols have very little genetic diversity
That is because Europeans and Mongols are both derived from only ONE type of Black Human (for the most part). Europeans are mostly the Albinos of India’s Dravidians. And Chinese type people (Mongols), are a Mulatto Race, made up of the admixture of East African Mongol phenotype Black people, and their Albinos.

    Evidence:
Africans have the highest phenotypical diversity on earth,
    producing variants covering most features.
African peoples are the most diverse in the world whether analyzed by DNA or skeletal or cranial methods. Attempts to deny this are rooted in racism and error. African people, particularly SUB-SAHARAN Africans, vary the most in how they look, more so than any other population in the world.

    QUOTE:
“Both methods for estimating regional diversity show sub-Saharan
Africans have the highest levels of phenotypic variation consistent with
    many genetic studies.“
[– Relethford, John “Global Analysis of Regional Differences in
    Craniometric Diversity .” Hum Bio v73, n5, -629-636]) .

“In addition, craniometric variation also shows agreement with genetic data in showing highest levels of diversity in sub-Saharan Africa than in other geographic regions (Relethford and Harpending, 1994).”

Different features among Africans, particularly EAST AFRICANS, like narrow noses are not due to different “race” mixes but are part of the built-in physical diversity and variation of African peoples. Narrow noses appear in the oldest African populations for example, in Kenya’s Gamble Cave complex. East Africans like Somalians or Kenyans do not need any outside race “mix” or migration to make them look the way they do.
    QUOTE:
“In sub-Saharan Africa, many anthropological characters show a wide range of population means or frequencies. In some of them, the whole world range is covered in the sub-continent. Here live the shortest and the tallest human populations, the one with the highest and the one with the lowest nose, thne with the thickest and the one with the thinnest lips in the world…..” – Jean Hiernaux, “The People of Africa” .

  20. The game is over, the myth of race finally exposed.
Please see the Movie (The Myth of Race and the Evolution of Skin Color)

Title: Full Movie (The Myth of Race and the Evolution of Skin Color)
Description: This ground breaking documentary combines anthropology, paleontology and human genetics to show how that all humans, no matter what race, nationality or ethnicity you claim to be, share a common ancestor with a small population that lived in Africa between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago. It also explains in detail the biological process, known as mutations that happens every generation that causes humans to look different. And last, it challenges a long standing theory that the evolution of skin color is a result of humans proximity to the equator. The research conducted in this film shows that the evolution of skin color is the direct result of a skin pigment mutation known as albinism, in particular, oculocutaneous type 1 and 2 albinism
