  1. This should be an easy ride for Trevor Prescod. How Kenny Best get to parliament is an amazement to him and the people of St.Michael East.

  2. Kenny Worst is toast. How he ever won is still an wonder to me! The man cannot speak the English language at all, does not have a clue how to match verbs and nouns and to think he is Deputy Speaker in our House. Unbelievable!

  3. Ooops typo… a wonder.

  4. You ignore the Barrabus factor. When you want to change anyone will do. Trevor must work hard to get back this seat.and I think he is capable of removing Kenny from here but The sewage plant for the people of Licorish Village and environs will be important. The squatting problem must be fixed

  5. True to form, don’t you think that those issues pale into insignificance with the new forms of torture these people are experiencing with this gov’t, and those old issues still have not been fixed?

  6. advantage – BLP

    Kenny’s “personal” style is’t endearing and Trevor lost because of the swing. But and bound with te other St. Michael seats and he should win. I thnk tis seat may carry Bradshaw into Parliamet too.

  7. THE BLP RESCUED AND REBUILT BARBADOS AFTER DEVASTATION LEFT BY THE DLP IN 1994.(and other times)

    The DLP brought Barbados to its economic and political knees starting in 1986 with the RICHIE HAYNES BACKRAISE BUDGET and give-aways that the Bree St. John led BLP had indicated the country could not afford.
    By 1988 , Barrow was. Sandiford stuttered and Richie Haynes Bolted. The Budget of 1988 was described by Richie Haynes as A BACKSTREET ABORTION. In the 1991 election campaign at Eastmond Corner, Sandiford declared that the economy was batting like Sir Garfield Sobers, two weeks later gave away 33 million dollars to retired civil servants who disposed of the money on consumer durables and the country was pushed into a hole further with the 8 % salary
    cut. Many persons lost ‘things’ in the most sordid and darkest period of our recent history. Man I could go on but I dont have to justify anything . To France wid you and your crap.We made a mistake in 2008 due to lies and deceit from the DLP and voted against a wonderful party and Government. We will correct this whenever ‘Mr. SLOTHFUL’ call elections. Simple !

    We voting BEES AND WE DONT CARE WHAT NO DLP LACKEYS AND YARDFOWLS SAY—THE STARS HAVE ALIGNED
    BEES=29
    DEES=0
    INDEPENDENT=1

    As a constituent of St. Michael’s East, i have never been so embarrassed of a representative like i am of Kenny Best. He is the worst.
    Prescod lost because of the swing

    Hey hey! That name’s a little too close for comfort! I agree with the sentiments though, I had prescod winning this one even before the poll. We’ll see.

  11. When I heard that this man was elected….I said to myself these people in St.Michael East for REAL ?

  12. @Harry

    Do you know by one of the widest margins?

  13. @David
    wide margin??
    I wouldn’t count 600 odd votes in a constituency of over 7,000 a wide margin.

  14. It was a comparative statement to many of his colleagues.

  15. @DAvid
    m. lashley, s. lashley, stuart, jones, lowe, byer suckoo and kellman did as good or better margin wise as Best…and in that group there are at least 2 sure losers…

    I “wonder” what that says for the margins under 400. lol

    The DLP needs to smell the coffee. The wagons are circling and the flames and pitchforks are increasing and the cries of “crucify them” are reaching a critical crescendo.

    Case in point, back page of the nation. Less than 24 hours after the “false unity” in the BLP was viewed as an issue of concern to the electorate, the victim of 2010 comes out in FULL PUBLIC support of her leader. I still think it’s cosmetic, but that’s how modern TEAMS operate around their current LEADER prior to serious BATTLE. How many DLP MPs have publicly, unprovoked and unscriptedly pledged their unswerving support for their leader? Hard ears ya won’t hear…by and by……

    Kenny Best will lose.

    Just Observing.

  16. Information is that Best has been doing a lot of ground work, we shall see.

    Kenny Best is the best of the best of the lawyers in Bim. He is the epitome of legal expertise and brilliance, the hallmark of legal excellence in Bim. A true gem of the perfect output from the UWI.
    A man of the finest QC silk and who would make Amused proud.

  18. @David
    Indeed we will. This seat has seen its share of grasshoppers so history and time to come will tell. Where east goes, south east will follow and/or vice versa.

    @miller
    lessons in sarcasm i perceive?

  19. David,
    There is a “joke” making the rounds about Kenny Worst. It is said that he cruised through an area in his constituency in a fancy car, got out to shout the boys on the block, the boys said hey, we have not seen you ’bout here for a long time and we have lost faith in you. He replied “wunnah never see Jesus yet and wunnah believe in him”.

    Clown, extra ordinaire!

  20. @Prodigal Son

    Good one 🙂

    He is the butt of jokes but what matters is whether his constituents believe he represents. To what extent has Prescod been outworking him on the ground.

    “lessons in sarcasm i perceive?”

    Why don’t you stop casting “ASPIRATIONS” (sorry, aspersions) at me and Impuning (sorry, Impugning) my character? (LOL!!!).
    He makes a fine speaker of the house providing more laughs than a barrel of monkeys all with loaded guns in their hands and cigars in their mouths.

    In a climate like this the opposition doesn’t have to “outwork”, just be a good alternative. Prescod has history and did well in his time. Familiarity is a strong magnet in all relationships. Best hasn’t “shone” on any stage in 4 years. He hasn’t even impressed the entrappaners in the constituency. Thompson’s coattails pulled him in. Never had him holding his seat.

    Prescod has the upper hand based on swing, history, constituency size, profile and the sentiment in neighbouring seats.

    Just my observation.

  23. @Observing

    Let this be our little wager. Hopefully if Wickham gets to do a constituency poll it will settle it …lol.

    Best gives his take on privatising the Transport Board

    11/18/2012

    MEMBER of Parliament for St. Michael East, Kenny Best, who is also a private service vehicle (PSV) owner has added his voice to the contentious debate on the privatisation of the Transport Board.

    Saying that he is proud to be providing a valuable service to the people of Barbados by providing public transportation, he gave a different perspective on how privatisation could hurt employees at the Transport Board and also the general public from the eyes of a private owner.

    According to Best, “If I purchase two Transport Board buses, it means that the mechanics at the Transport Board cannot work on them. I am going to have my own mechanics. It also means my buses are not going to work after 9 p.m., so the people who work on the Harbour Road will find difficulty getting home.

    “I would like to ask the Barbados Labour Party how are they are going to get the system of selling it to workers, because you are going to have to get back to the whole question of concessionaires, and it means if I am a concessionaire I dictate the pace of what happens with my vehicles.”

    Best, also made the point that the question of allowing persons to ride free on these buses will also be a thing of the past. He stated that this idea would take the country backward, while the DEMS are seeking to go forward. “Programmes will be rolled out year in and year out for the betterment of this country,” he stated.

    Giving an account of what was done in his constituency Best said that he is happy with the progress over the past four years.
    He pointed to the pep talks to all the schools in his constituency, donations of supplies, the opening of parks and finding employment for some of his constituents which he noted is no easy task at this time.

    “I want people to understand in these tough economic times, jobs will be difficult and if you have the slightest chance to get into Government or the private sector hold on to it.”

    “Those persons who are doing apprenticeship programmes, you are always disadvantaged because the employer gets the most out of you for very little, but it is greater to move from zero cents to $250 in a week than to move from zero dollars to zero dollars if you have no job,” he remarked.

    Meanwhile Member of Parliament for St. Michael Central and Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development Steve Blackett has also reported an overwhelming response from the mass canvass held yesterday.
    He noted that a strong emphasis was placed on all members of the society, but noted that the Helping Hands breakfast programme was of noted importance and continues to supply breakfast for at least 50 for young school age children every morning five days per week.

    Prime Minister Freundel Stuart lauded the work carried out by both candidates both of whom he said rendered high quality representation and their constituents can only be the richer with their re-election to the House of Assembly after the next General Election. (JH)

    This is a nonsensical argument and proves why Kenny Best could never be a Cabinet Minister and should never have been an MP. PSV operators are currently only allowed to ‘dictate the pace of what happens with’ their buses where no legislation/policy is in place to stipulate otherwise. As such, even though Kenny owns his buses he can only charge the legislated bus fare and operate on routes approved by the government. If public transportation were to be privatized, the government would therefore expand legislation/policy beyond fares and routes, and address operating hours and subsidised commuters through the Transport Authority as a condition attached to the granting of licenses/concessionaires/routes. It is not rocket science!!!

    Bajans could be such degenerates. are we so short sighted and ignorant to facts. you all need to research history and see the errors of your thinking. BLP had 14 years in government not 14 months 14 years and did diddly squat. people of Barbados too greedy and just thinking about themselves forgetting the bigger picture. if BLP get in I sorry for BIM. we going to be the republic of Guyana, Trinidad and any other high bidder. A vote forBLP is a vote to sell our souls.

  28. And a vote for the DLP means what? That we are damn fools???

  29. “BLP had 14 years in government not 14 months 14 years and did diddly squat.”

    I did some research and quite a few people living in St. Michael East got a chance to own their land under the BLP. What about the St.Giles Nursery School?

  31. only thing kenny best doing is get as many psv permit he can get . for himself . he doesn’t live with wife in st michael . but he lives with his woman . his main purpose in politics is owns as many permit as he could . why we want you for ?

  32. As a resident of St. Michael East. Have not for the DLP ticket Kenny Best is riding on… he would NOT get a vote… but because people (sensible at that) vote party and not person… His chance of winning the seat is is high… Honestly looking at his ‘work’ done in my area.. I have seen him only 3 times and that was in passing… I have nothing against him… Since my main objective as a voting citizen is to examine the facts concerning what the government has done for the ECONOMY and not for individuals… and i can say without being bias that the DLP has been very instrumental in getting things done in this short space of time than the BLP who had 14 years. The DLP has begun the rectifying of the hospital which the BLP left to suffer… the DLP have begun to rebuild the economy after the mis-management and misappropriation of funds by the BLP.

    As someone said earlier look at the facts and not hearsay or gossip… but know for yoursef.. I KNOW where my x is going and it cant be bought for any price because it is priceless… this is my Constitutional right as a citizen.
